Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will perform a full range of duties including repairs and maintenance of production machines and equipment.
Position Responsibilities
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Assembles and tests operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective part.
- Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
- Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Aligns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
- Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
- Repairs broken parts.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Replaces defective parts with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required.
- Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
Position Requirements
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret operation manuals, drawings, and technical procedures.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
