Primary Duties

• Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
• Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.
• Learns to inspect and becomes proficient at mechanical troubleshooting to determine repairs needed.
• Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices.
• Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating conditions are restored.
• Learns to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
• Performs facility maintenance and repair and may replace or install light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, paint etc.
• Performs manual labor including but not limited to filling and emptying of machine bins, cleaning equipment, cleaning facilities, cleaning grounds, digging, using hand tools etc. as required.
• Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes.

Work Environment

• Ability to work alone and in inclement weather conditions is essential. Will require working in all the weather conditions Florida provides. These conditions include working in strong winds, rain, and extreme high temperatures.
• Work is primarily outdoors with limited indoor work. Work is conducted at a safe and reasonable pace.
• Spends 100% of the time in the operations environment.
• May need to work outside in inclement weather conditions and drive company vehicles to perform duties.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. Two to five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment with ability to comprehend complex specifications, blueprints and manuals preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
