Maintenance Technician I (Hibiscus Hill - 1255)

About the role

This is a full-time Maintenance Tech I position at an 80‑unit multi‑family affordable housing community in Waipahu, HI (a CDBG property). The Maintenance Technician I performs necessary and minor repairs and preventative maintenance on rental units as they become vacant, and may assist with painting interior units, office areas, laundry rooms, and common areas.

Responsibilities

• Basic plumbing: toilet, faucet and minor pipe repair
• Painting: preparation, sanding and color matching
• Electrical repairs: light switch, cords, ballasts and bulbs, circuit breakers
• Lock replacement/adjustment, bolt installation, window locks, latches and keys
• Screen door repair and replacement
• Sheetrock repair when needed
• Detailing turnover units, completing within 5 days

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience)
• 1+ year of related apartment maintenance experience
• Knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance
• Valid CADL, clean DMV record, and reliable transportation
• Basic computer knowledge
• Willingness to undergo criminal background check and drug testing (EAH does not test for marijuana/cannabis)

Pay

Salary range: $19.95 – $30.40 per hour. Hiring range for new employees is generally $19.95 – $25.18 per hour (DOE). Final offer considers experience and current salary levels of comparable roles at EAH.
