About the role
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a mission-driven, enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to provide excellent maintenance service to the buildings and grounds at assigned YMCA locations for the benefit of members and program participants. This position reports to the Association Facility Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned and approved repairs in accordance with YMCA Association Standards, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, plaster/sheetrock, and landscaping.
- Read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Support the Facilities Team in aquatics projects, including pool openings/closings, drain/cleans, and aquatics area maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with camp projects including camp openings/closings, trail maintenance, and equipment transportation.
- Support custodial/housekeeping projects and volunteer build events.
- Maintain and update the approved system of records, reports, and inventory in assigned areas.
- Update, communicate, and close out all work orders and projects in the Facilities Management Software.
- Comply with OSHA standards, emergency plans, maintenance management, and housekeeping.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
- Highly motivated with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Work cooperatively with members, staff, and volunteers.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic computer skills to utilize maintenance and facility software programs.
- Valid driving license, ability to drive YMCA vehicles, and reliable personal transportation (position requires travel to branches throughout the YMCA of Greater Richmond footprint).
- May be required to work overtime and on evenings and weekends as necessary to meet assigned events and facility schedules.
