Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical)

Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield

Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)

Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems

Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures

Essential Functions

Aid with preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems

Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness

Aids with performing equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance

Supports with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems

Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system

Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains quality standards

Required Qualifications

Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
May be requested to work a different shift.
