Position Summary
This entry-level role performs routine maintenance and basic repairs on industrial equipment, machinery, and facilities. The role will receive on-the-job training and support senior technicians with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues, ensuring production operates safely and efficiently.
Principle Responsibilities
- Visually inspects machinery and equipment, performing routine scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Monitor the progress of equipment activities, communicating with production and management for effective compliance with maintenance PM plans.
- Discusses machine operation with team, production, and management to diagnose equipment problems.
- Respond to inquiries in a courteous manner, resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Dismantles defective machinery and equipment, installing new or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, chains and other parts of equipment.
- Maintain and repair sandblasting equipment, dust collectors, and wet collectors. Replace collection barrels, filters, and belts.
- Fabricate and repair shelving, counters, benches, partitions, and other structures.
- Conduct minor building repairs as required.
- Perform indoor and outdoor work, exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Be observant of facilities and grounds, recommending repairs and upgrades when needed.
- Stay organized and communicate spare parts usage from inventory to support accurate tracking and efficient reordering processes.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as required, assigned by supervisor or manager.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of preventive maintenance practices, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules.
- Attention to detail, catching small problems before becoming major issues.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation.
- Excellent communication, reporting issues, collaborating with team.
- Able to work as a team or independently.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, pneumatics, and hydraulics are a plus.
Safety
- Follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards promptly.
- Adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents.
- Safely operate tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
Credentials/Experience
- Qualification Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training are a plus. 1 to 2 years of manufacturing maintenance experience or assisting with repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Driver’s license is required. Provided forklift training, passing certification is required.
