About the role

The Maintenance Tech position is responsible for Industrial and Technical Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
  • Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance), and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives directed by the Sedalia site.
  • Meet satisfactory performance requirements as determined by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and complete other assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Work overtime as requested and posted by management.
  • Improve effectiveness of all equipment within assigned VS. Develop an Autonomous Maintenance program and a scheduled maintenance program for the Maintenance Department.
  • Conduct training to improve operations and maintenance skills.
  • Perform TPM Audits of assigned VS.
  • Perform general equipment preventive/corrective maintenance, including equipment failure root cause analysis.
  • Schedule maintenance downtime for PM’s and repairs.
  • Coordinate and chair Equipment Improvement Teams.
  • Purchase and coordinate components for equipment improvement and relocations.
  • Recommend equipment component changes that have a positive impact on overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Perform minor equipment modifications such as machine guarding, sensor locations, and equipment improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Work all three shifts and split shifts (e.g., 10:00 am – 6:00 pm) as required to implement, audit, and sustain the TPM program.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of formal Industrial or Technical Maintenance experience or Formal Tech School in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Experience with writing and performing preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Own and know how to use basic hand tools, understand and enforce all safety requirements.
  • Able to work from prints and schematics.

Schedule

  • 1st shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Willingness to work overtime, all three shifts, and split shifts (e.g., 10:00 am – 6:00 pm) as required.
