About the role
The Maintenance Technician position at Court Street Manor, part of Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, is dedicated to ensuring the quality of life for seniors through maintenance and upkeep of the community and its grounds.
Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate resident work orders, completing assigned tasks within required time frames.
- Utilize PMWORX program to communicate with outside vendors and maintain required paperwork.
- Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment regularly to identify necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Aid in scheduling and conducting unit inspections according to HUD/MSHDA/PVM policy.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical devices, machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Install, assemble, repair, and maintain electrical and gas appliances, equipment, systems, fixtures, lights, electronic components, plumbing systems, and fixtures.
- Perform groundskeeping services, including landscaping and snow removal.
- Estimate repair costs and complete repairs as authorized or forward to supervisor for approval.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies while following safety procedures.
- Communicate project statuses, outstanding issues, and relevant information to the administrator.
- Ensure compliance with Housing Quality Standards in units and the entire property.
- Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities.
- Follow established policies and procedures, including safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- One to two years related experience in maintenance.
- Computer skills, including operation of a computer and maintenance software.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC (preferred).
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate a computer and utilize maintenance software.
- Physical demands: Stand, Walk, Climb, Squat/Kneel, Bend, Handle/Finger, Lift/Carry (50 lbs minimum), Push/Pull (50 lbs minimum), Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception), Ability to wear PPE.
- Work environment: Exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, electrical shock, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
