About the role

Canteen is hiring a full-time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position. The role is located at Canteen, 205 Woods Lake Road, Greenville, SC 29607. Online applications are accepted only. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with weekends on call and rotating schedule. Previous experience with or working knowledge of mechanical and technical systems is required, with preference given to previous HVAC or plumbing experience. A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in decision-making on repairs; reports major issues to supervisors and foremen.
  • Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems using power and hand tools.
  • Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs, or diagnoses malfunctioning HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Serves as a leader and supervisor for a group of workers on projects.
  • Trains and teaches advanced maintenance skills to other department members.
  • Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists.
  • Reports and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
  • Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Maintains logs, performs rounds, and completes work orders, tests, and inspections.
  • Makes recommendations for modifying or improving preventive maintenance systems.
  • Serves as a member of the facility emergency response team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
  • Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
  • Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
  • One of the following licenses or certifications: Master license in one trade, Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerants, Journeyman Plumber License, etc.
  • Valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution.

Pay

$20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Weekends on call and rotating schedule.
