About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for condominium properties in the Quincy, Roslindale, and Brighton areas. This person will 'float' between these properties on a daily or weekly basis. The ideal candidate should have skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, and general maintenance. They should also be adept at promoting and maintaining good resident relations and effectively prioritizing and organizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory control and purchasing in conjunction with the manager
  • Meet and communicate with site managers regularly to update each other on on-site issues
  • Assume on-call responsibilities for unforeseen emergencies, working with others as needed
  • Coordinate contracts and oversee contractor activities
  • Respond to daily emergencies and routine service work orders professionally and promptly
  • Maintain the appearance of the site by collecting and discarding refuse from common areas and throughout the site daily
  • Perform preventative maintenance schedule according to site requirements

Requirements

  • Ability to respond effectively to site emergencies
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry and general repair and maintenance duties
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to get to the site in a timely manner to respond to emergencies
  • Ability to utilize basic computer skills and use First Realty computer programs
  • Ability to fill out and complete work orders accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively with site staff and residents
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to safely operate power tools, such as saws and drills
  • Pass a pre-employment physical before starting work
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Reliable vehicle required, willingness to travel between locations required
