Maintenance Technician Field Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician Field Supervisor to perform maintenance operations in the Waco, Texas area. This role involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, bridge rail and concrete repair, while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform highway maintenance tasks such as debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, bridge rail, and concrete repair.
• Operate equipment including wheel loaders, skid steers, forklifts, asphalt rollers, and other machinery.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Respond to client calls, dispatch employees as needed, and provide supervisory support when required.
• Work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions, including weather emergencies.
• Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting.
• Operate hand and power tools, and adapt to the latest technology, including smartphones and applications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Roadway maintenance experience.
• Concrete forming and repair experience.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions.
• Maintain proper safety equipment for each job.
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedules and work safely under varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check, motor vehicle record (MVR), and controlled substance/drug testing.
• Clean driving record is essential; CDL license is a plus.
• Small engine troubleshooting and problem-solving experience preferred.
• MOT Certifications (traffic control) preferred.
• Spanish/English bilingual (written and spoken) is a plus.

Skills

• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment (e.g., wheel loader, skid steer, forklift, asphalt roller).
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Knowledge of and ability to use hand/power tools and adapt to new technology.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Schedule

• Full-time; Monday - Friday, with day or night shifts depending on workload (7:30 am - 4:30 pm and/or 5:00 pm - 6:00 am).
• Night and weekend work as needed.
• Flexibility to work additional hours during weather emergencies or as requested by projects and clients.
• On-call availability to respond to client requests and dispatch employees when necessary.
