Maintenance Technician/Crib Attendant

About the role

The Maintenance Technician position at Parker Aerospace focuses on crib management, inventorying and ordering of parts, maintaining organizational control of the crib area, setting part ordering min and max limits, communicating with vendors and internal customers, and performing pipefitting, mechanical maintenance, and electrical activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage crib inventory and ordering of parts
• Maintain organizational control of the crib area
• Set part ordering min and max limits
• Communicate with vendors and internal customers professionally and effectively
• Repair and maintain assigned manufacturing related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance across multiple functions and operations
• Install and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, plant electrical service and distribution systems, switchgear, motor control centers, PLC’s, cabling, conduit, wire terminations, etc.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process problems and make necessary repairs
• Read engineering and machine drawings, troubleshoot equipment and process problems, and make necessary repairs to correct the defective operation and/or condition
• Comprehend and accurately follow specific detailed operational instructions and prints for job and setup operations
• Document specific detailed instructions and procedures
• Utilize computers and appropriate software programs, including CMMS, in the performance of job responsibilities
• Operate pre-form equipment, CVI and heat treat furnaces, CNC machining equipment, material handling equipment including hoists and cranes, tow motors, pallet trucks, and other miscellaneous machinery
• Comprehend and accurately follow specific detailed operational instructions and prints for job and setup operations
• Understand and utilize measuring and test equipment as required in the performance of job responsibilities
• Work in a safe and efficient manner following all Meggitt safety protocols
• Perform plant housekeeping duties as necessary to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Train in MABS-KY’s hazardous waste management program
• Comply with quality criteria to maintain quality system requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Thorough knowledge of crib management and ability to learn and help initiate Hexagon crib management software
• Comfortable with various software-based programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and equipment
• Familiar with reading and interpreting documents, schematics, and blueprints
• Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
• Able to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods
• Excellent customer service skills

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Maintenance related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
• Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in related field
• Previous experience in starting up a crib area is a plus
• Experience in the maintenance field, enabling communication with other maintenance technicians

Skills

• Thorough knowledge of crib management and the ability to learn and help initiate the Hexagon crib management software
• Comfortable with various software-based programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
• SAP experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and equipment
• Familiar with reading and interpreting documents, schematics, and blueprints
• Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
• Able to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods
• Excellent customer service skills
