Maintenance Technician (Client Opening) - Streamwood, IL

About the role

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team and play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues
• Repair or replace faulty components to restore equipment performance
• Support the installation and start-up of new equipment
• Use electrical testing and measuring instruments to identify and resolve issues
• Document maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment failures
• Track and manage spare parts usage
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and efficiency
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of: Industrial electrical wiring and 3-phase systems up to 480VAC/DC motors and motor controls, PLCs, drives, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Basic computer skills for documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per shift in a manufacturing environment
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly (heavier loads with assistance)
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
• Manual dexterity for tools and precision work
• Good vision (with or without corrective lenses)

Schedule & Pay

• First shift: 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM Monday–Friday; Saturdays as needed
• Competitive hourly pay (based on experience): $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Overtime opportunities when production requires
