Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards to prevent injuries
• Maintain, install, service, and repair a wide variety of equipment and systems by:
• Determining the cause of equipment breakdown or failure and perform necessary repairs
• Analyzing drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. as required to install, repair, calibrate or otherwise service all types of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic devices and systems
• Applying preventative methods and routine maintenance to reduce unplanned equipment downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
• Communicate with manufacturers, service groups, and other support as needed
• Support management of spare parts inventories
• Maintain the facility and support equipment in working order by performing repairs and modifications
• Support maintenance scheduling and planning including Preventative Maintenance efforts

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge around the functions and designs of bearings, motors, gearboxes, and other major electrical or mechanical components
• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent to include technical training or degree
• Demonstrate safety knowledge and positive safety behaviors
• Pro-Active and Predictive Maintenance knowledge or training desired
• Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and ability to support investigations and develop mitigation plans to address findings
• Ability to identify and communicate material and/or part needs for procurement and sourcing
• Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers
• Good judgment in recognizing scope of responsibilities
• Ability to read, write and communicate information effectively and accurately
• Good problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and be able to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort
