Maintenance Technician

About the role

WaterSaver Faucet Co., founded 80 years ago, manufactures specialized faucets, valves, and related products for science laboratories. Located in a modern 120,000 square foot facility in River West, northwest of downtown Chicago, we are a family-owned company and the largest manufacturer of these products globally. The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled maintenance and repairs on: Building systems (replace filters, belts, motors), plumbing, electrical, and compressed air. Production equipment (CNC machining and turning centers, manual machines, power tools, etc.). Process equipment (steam boiler, parts washers, plating equipment, powder coating equipment, material handling equipment).
• Troubleshoot plant equipment when breakdowns occur. Coordinate repairs with outside vendors as required.
• Create work orders and parts requisitions. Maintain records in computerized maintenance system.

Requirements

• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Familiarity with building automation systems.
• Knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO, machine guarding, etc.) and situational awareness.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or trade school certifications in relevant areas.
• 3 – 5 years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and understand IO&M instructions, parts lists, and prints.
• Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to handle the physical demands of the job.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving history.

Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of safe work practices (LOTO, machine guarding, etc.) and situational awareness.

Pay and Benefits

• $30 - $40/hour, depending on skill and experience.
