Essential Functions
- Diagnose equipment failures - root cause and communicate required actions across relevant teams.
- Perform major equipment repairs, rebuilds and installations.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on machines and equipment including lubrication, inspection, cleaning, calibration, and part replacement.
- Assist in installing, assembling, and setting up new machinery or equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including parts used and time taken.
- Collaborate with operators and other technicians to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with Supervisor / Manager and other team members to prioritize maintenance needs and coordinate repair efforts.
- Organize and manage spare parts and tooling inventory.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure machinery complies with safety standards.
- Use maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track tasks and maintenance history.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial machinery.
- Reading & Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools; forklift or scissor lift certification preferred.
- Maintenance Systems: Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting ability in both mechanical and electrical systems, with attention to detail.
- Fabrication Skills: Basic welding or fabrication experience desirable.
- Safety Practices: Knowledge of maintenance safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, 5S) and commitment to safe work practices.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and respond to emergencies when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in machinery maintenance or a related role.
- Prior experience OSHA standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment.
Training And Experience
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
