Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a wide range of production and facility equipment, including CNC machines, mills, grinders, drills, punch presses, CO2 and fiber-optic lasers, robots, and other manufacturing systems. This role performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and basic programming while also identifying and recommending opportunities to improve machine performance and production efficiency.

Essential Job Functions

  • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in various production and related services
  • Perform vehicle and forklift maintenance and repair
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment with appropriate record keeping
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machine malfunctions and operating difficulties
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems in the facility and related machines with the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, installing and troubleshooting these various systems
  • Develop and work with vendors to obtain required parts for maintenance and repair
  • Review and recommend more efficient methods of production and machine use
  • Able to operate various tools and equipment including: hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment and welding equipment
  • Maintain a good attendance record, practice safe work habits, and follow general safety procedures including LOTOR
  • Respond to facility-related maintenance requests which can include grounds maintenance, seasonal snow removal, and fitness center for employees and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production, facility operations, and overall company needs

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven maintenance experience
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Willingness to learn
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of machine repair
  • Knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards preferred
  • Strong electrical skills (12V, 24V, 110v, 220v, 480v) preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical press systems preferred
  • Knowledge of fiber optic and C02 laser machines preferred
  • CMMs and Welding experience a plus
  • Able to work at heights of up to 40 ft

Physical Demands

This role requires frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, climbing, kneeling, and working in tight or elevated spaces while operating hand and power tools. The job also involves working around industrial machinery in a demanding environment with exposure to heat, oil, and electrical systems.
