Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

This is a field-based position responsible for maintaining and improving multiple self-storage properties throughout the Raleigh market. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with site managers and company leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across multiple facilities
• Clean storage units after customer move-outs to prepare them for new tenants
• Remove and dispose of abandoned tenant property when necessary
• Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of each facility
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify maintenance concerns proactively
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues before they become larger problems
• Assist with capital improvement projects and property upgrades
• Cook up with third-party contractors and vendors
• Support ongoing facility enhancements as the company grows
• Maintain regular communication with site managers and upper management
• Participate in weekly company meetings
• Document completed work and report maintenance concerns
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Willingness to learn and grow
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with any of the following is a major plus:
• HVAC systems
• Plumbing
• Electrical systems
• Access control systems and gate operators
• General construction or handyman experience
• Self-storage, commercial property, or facility maintenance experience
