Maintenance Technician

Description

Smurfit Westrock is a leader in sustainable packaging solutions. This Maintenance Technician Position emphasizes electrical and mechanical expertise. The shift is flexible, typically 2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm; or 3rd Shift: Sun: 11pm -7am. Pay starts at $37.10 hourly, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K plan starting on the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of electro automation system installation and troubleshooting experience
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems
• Understands hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Able to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives
• PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude
• Reads and interprets both electrical and mechanical drawings
• Working knowledge of encoders and various types of sensors
• Working knowledge of power transmission equipment, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Basic welding skills
• Familiar with pumps; both air and electrical
• Able to install and troubleshoot 3 phase motor control circuits
• Knowledge of various types of sensors and limit switches
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Military training or technical school preferred
• 5 years in troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work flexible hours / non-traditional schedules and overtime as required
• Corrugated industry background is a plus, but not required
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check
