Responsibilities

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Aid in maintaining the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all buildings and building systems as assigned.
  • Report any departure from the PM schedule.
  • Keep accurate records for maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Review daily work lists with the Maintenance Manager at the end of the workday and ensure routine communication throughout the day.
  • Develop and improve skills in all aspects of building maintenance through participation in approved training sessions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Safely perform all work and follow all associated safety guidelines.
  • Aid in facilities and grounds maintenance including snow removal.
  • Contribute up-to-date maintenance and repair data which is tracked by facilities maintenance software including utilization of existing work order system.
  • Aid in loading and unloading various equipment and supplies.
  • Transport ministry guests and materials on a rotational basis as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Aid in Ministry functions outside the scope of normal hours of operation.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of Samaritans Purse as outlined in the Policy Manual.
  • Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, donors, and volunteers.
  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Five (5) years of maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Construction/carpentry experience; holder of contractor, electrical, or plumbing license is an added plus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Maintain a good driving record and a valid North Carolina CDL driver's License that includes passenger and other applicable endorsements.
  • CDL to be obtained within 3-6 months after hire date.
