About the Role
Through experience and training, Maintenance Technicians acquire the skills to rise up and assume Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities. You’ll be an active member of a team handling a variety of tasks in an always-developing environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive resident satisfaction by responding to and completing work orders timely in a quality manner.
- Drive property performance by performing work that produces clean, safe, and attractive common areas, including pools, laundry, clubhouses, and parking lots.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to prioritize tasks throughout the day.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, guests, and vendors.
- Maintain property value by performing preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Ensure resident satisfaction by preparing vacant apartments for move-in.
- Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and correcting or reporting safety issues, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs.
- Maintain and repair critical building and site systems.
- Use software applications to track work and personal performance.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of general maintenance/general repair experience, preferably in the multifamily or related industry.
- EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal certification strongly preferred.
- Trade skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, and appliance repair.
- Trade licensing preferred but not required.
- Must have own hand tools.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the community.
- Must be willing to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Must have dependable transportation and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule.
- Must be able to perform physical requirements of the job, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Requires ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb stairs for office work, apartment inspections, and sales tours (approximately 60% walking/climbing, 30% sitting).
- Ability to lift or carry objects for document dissemination, apartment preparation, and moving furniture/appliances:
- Over 150 pounds: Rare need (less than 5% of time).
- 75–150 pounds: Occasional need (1% to 33% of time).
- 25–75 pounds: Frequent need (33% to 66% of time).
- Less than 25 pounds: Constant need (66% to 100% of time).
