Maintenance Technician
About the role
You will play a vital role in ensuring our buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and inviting for residents at James Crawford Apartments, a 96-unit senior/elderly affordable housing community. You’ll perform a variety of maintenance tasks, from plumbing and electrical repairs to HVAC and carpentry work, all while upholding high standards for quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
- Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames.
- Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
- Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
- Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on-call for emergency maintenance.
- Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
- Affordable housing experience is a plus.
- Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.

- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Pay
Anticipated salary range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour. Annual performance bonus may apply. This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay. The range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what is reasonably expected at the time of posting; actual compensation may vary depending on qualifications, location, and specific responsibilities. Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and role requirements.
