Position Description

This position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Maintenance Department.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Analyzes equipment failures, determines cause(s) and makes necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Performs mechanical and electrical maintenance of the facility as needed and maintains and repairs all plant machinery and equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as indicated by the preventative maintenance system.
  • Affords assistance to subcontractors in the maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating required equipment, parts, and supplies, and placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt when required equipment arrives.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures, using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables utilizing hand tools.
  • Diagnoses, repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices, utilizing hand tools and test equipment.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints utilizing hand tools and test equipment.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as required.

  • Ability to read calipers and tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and relay information accurately and in a timely manner.

Job Qualifications and Education

  • Electronics certification required.
  • Previous work-related skill knowledge and experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Skilled in Microsoft packages including Work, Excel and Outlook.
