Maintenance Technician

About the role

Pillar High School is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support and supervise daily operations by ensuring the school building and grounds remain safe, clean, and fully functional.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on facility systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
• Complete daily inspections to identify and address any building or equipment issues
• Respond to work orders and emergency repair needs in a timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and shared spaces
• Assist with room setups and equipment moves for school functions and events
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ADA standards
• Collaborate with outside vendors when necessary
• Track maintenance supplies and report inventory needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building maintenance or related field
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions
• Valid NJ Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Must pass background check and required health screenings
• Trade school training or relevant certifications (Black Seal and pool certification) (Preferred)
• Experience working in a school or care facility environment (Preferred)

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $52,000.00 annually
• Pillar Care takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s work experience and qualification as well as the scope of the role, complexity and external market and internal market value when determining salary level.
