Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and report to the Property Manager.
• Maintain, repair, and clean apartment buildings assigned to them, which may include multiple locations and building types.
• Ensure assigned apartment buildings meet the highest standards of excellence.
• Perform administrative work each morning as assigned by the Property Manager or Property Support Center, including prescribed online training, reviewing “My Pennrose” updates, reviewing messages, scheduling vendors, ordering parts, participating in “Team Meetings,” etc.
• Communicate and comply with Property Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, Regional Property Managers, Regional Maintenance Managers, and Property Support Center.
• Prepare for Owner, Federal, State, and local inspections.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, and common areas for a safe, clean environment.
• Work on-site to prepare for inspections and perform other maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with technical training certifications a plus.
• One year of property maintenance responsibilities or similar experience.
• A valid driver’s license, an insured vehicle, and the ability to travel between properties.
• Obtain a company-provided EPA certification within six months of employment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible hours and travel between properties.
• Ability to work at property locations within or near transitional neighborhoods.
• Physical abilities to climb stairs, take elevators, bend, squat, and reach overhead, and meet standard mobility and lifting requirements for property maintenance tasks.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• On-call, after-hour emergency service may be required.
