Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position performs a broad range of maintenance activities involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting production by minimizing equipment downtime, completing preventive maintenance, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform a variety of maintenance and repair activities on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, machine tools, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, refrigeration equipment, and other facility-related systems.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections and complete assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules.
- Absorb hazardous waste management duties in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
- Report defective equipment, unsafe conditions, or questionable materials through established reporting processes.
- Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete assigned maintenance projects and work orders with minimal supervision.
- Support emergency repairs and unplanned maintenance activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- A working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and general maintenance practices is necessary.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Effective communication skills are required, both with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of the position is important, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work any assigned shift and be available for emergency or off-shift maintenance assignments as needed.
