Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration equipment.
  • Maintain industrial control systems and perform general maintenance of the plant.
  • Work independently and with other team members to resolve mechanical issues during shifts.
  • Propose solutions to complex and recurring problems on production equipment to senior mechanics and management.
  • May fill in for production operators as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout shifts and complete required work order paperwork.
  • Document parts and material usage and understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in field or similar maintenance environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the position.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross-functional team members.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine center.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the position.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Experience with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
  • Experience with Variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motor.
  • Experience with Rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler.
  • Experience with Thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing.
  • Experience with HVAC including chillers and/or air compressors.
  • Experience working with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Experience with fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick).
  • Experience with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Experience with repairing variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (asi-bus, can-bus, profi-bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
