Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Fixing and maintaining mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines
• Rebuilding, repairing, and/or replacing equipment/machinery/parts
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Installing equipment/machinery/parts
• Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and systems as directed by supervisor
• Completing daily required reporting as well as additional reports as instructed
• Collaborating with management and other departments regarding maintenance issues throughout the facility
• Completing all assignments in priority order as delegated by the supervisor
• Completing startup procedures when appropriate
• Notifying supervisor of any unusual conditions which may result in downtime
• Completing assignment tickets in accurate and timely manner
• Recording all crisis and unscheduled work orders on the assignment ticket
• Responding to crisis situations in an expedient manner
• Maintaining tools in good working order
• Returning all borrowed tools to owning area
• Completing all work & safety training as designated by plant management
• Responding to crisis situations as assigned by supervisor
• Ensuring that all appropriate safety procedures are followed
• Participating in cost control measures including the return of all unused material to supply

Qualifications

• Demonstrated 2 years or more working in Maintenance
• Mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to work and be on time when scheduled
• Ability to read, write and speak English preferred
• Strong work ethic and eye for detail
• Exemplary safety record (with previous employer)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Prior industry experience preferred
• General knowledge of plant layout and production floor equipment and processes
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
