Maintenance Technician

About the role

Kansas Speedway, established in 2001, is situated in Kansas City, Kansas. Easily accessible via major highways, the facility also includes the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, dining options, shopping areas, and entertainment venues, making it a popular destination for fans. The track hosts two NASCAR Cup Series races, the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the NASCAR Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series, and the ARCA Menards Series. Additionally, Kansas Speedway offers over 200 event days annually, beyond its race weekends.

Responsibilities

• Performs all preventive maintenance functions including some electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance/repairs related to building maintenance.
• Welds, cuts, and fabricates as needed.
• Tests repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Requisitions parts and equipment with Supervisor approval.
• Keeps records and reports.
• Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Operates equipment as needed.
• Responsible for track preparation, maintenance, and restoration.
• Tracks cleaning (sweeping, blowing, applying and picking up absorbent, washing/scrubbing fluids off of the track, etc.).
• Reconfigures the track between oval, full road course, modified road course, short road course, and drag strip.
• General maintenance around the facility, including painting.
• Installing and storing signage throughout the property.
• Aid with fleet management and inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during race events.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and meet clean driving record criteria.
