Maintenance Technician

About the role

Morgan Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations at The Ridge at Merriam Valley and The Bend, a combined 1,400-unit apartment community in Akron, OH. This position will float between The Ridge at Merriam Valley and The Bend in Akron, OH, with participation in the on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and work orders in a timely manner while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, and general maintenance issues.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, including repairs, make-ready work, and quality inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment remain in excellent working condition.
• Maintain the appearance and safety of the community, including common areas, grounds, and amenities.

Requirements

• At least one year of apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance required.
• Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation and travel between both Akron communities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance required.

Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
