Responsibilities
- Performed comprehensive facility maintenance, repairs, and grounds keeping, ensuring safe and functional environments.
- Diagnosed and troubleshot maintenance issues; performed repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting as appropriate to skill level and training, escalating more complex issues as needed.
- Conducted daily, weekly and monthly safety inspections (including living areas, exits, fire extinguishers, and lighting) and maintained compliance with OSHA and fire safety regulations.
- Foundings shall be reported to the Program Manager.
- Managed and maintained Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensured proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Prioritized and completed service requests efficiently, supporting a clean, safe, and therapeutic setting.
- Tracked and maintained inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Maintained facility grounds, ensuring cleanliness and debris control, while leading and training participants in maintenance and grounds duties with a focus on safety and accountability.
- Coordinated with external vendors and contractors to complete specialized repairs and projects.
- Prepared facility for regulatory audits (DHCS, CDCR, OSHA), ensuring compliance and readiness.
- Maintained confidentiality and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support program operation.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- A valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
- Experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
- Ability to supervise, direct, and work alongside participants in a therapeutic setting.
- Strong organizational skills, including inventory tracking and task prioritization.
- Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations required.
- Bilingual preferred.
