Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, renovations, and ongoing maintenance across a portfolio of single-family rental homes. This position supports property operations by ensuring homes are safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents. The role contributes to resident satisfaction, asset preservation, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, deferred, and emergency maintenance across assigned properties
- Diagnose and complete repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general home systems
- Complete and document work orders accurately and promptly using company-issued mobile devices
- Carefully coordinate with dispatch, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely service completion
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies needed for daily maintenance activities
- Support property readiness by assisting with renovations, turns, and quality control checks
- Provide a high level of customer service as the primary field representative
- Promote company values and maintain professionalism in all interactions
Requirements
- Complete all required training and compliance courses by assigned deadlines
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in mobile technology and work order systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in residential maintenance or related field
- Experience in single-family rental or property management environments
- Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades
- Industry certifications or licenses: EPA Certification, HVAC Certification, or equivalent
