Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

  • Compete assigned work orders for the day, and document work performed using the internal documentation process.
  • Distribute the shift report at the end of every shift communicating tasks accomplished during the shift.
  • Originate and process urgent work orders when assigned.
  • Perform rounds and complete checklists each shift on the designated production line.
  • Attend daily assigned meetings to assist in identifying priorities for the day.
  • Rapidly respond to urgent priority (priority1) calls to address the issue in a timely manner.
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis when involved in the associated failure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with all equipment (production, facilities, auxiliary, etc.).
  • Identify electrical and mechanical issues by using available test equipment (meters, meggers, strobe lights, etc.).
  • Repair and/or replace defective electrical or mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and repair electronic, electro-mechanical, and instrumentation equipment, operating in all areas, utilizing meters, gauges, and other testing methods.
  • Troubleshoot PLC hardware and software.
  • Aid in identifying parts for repairs.
  • Aid in the installation of new equipment and equipment modification projects.
  • Document all modifications made to equipment during repairs.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working in a similar role with industrial equipment or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • A two (2) year technical degree in related area, preferred.
  • Basic electrical/electronic circuit knowledge required.
  • Working knowledge of motor control systems, PLCs, and communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of production and support equipment.
  • Ability to read prints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Intermediate mechanical knowledge required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure independently and as part of a team.
