Key Responsibilities
- Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Logs equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality.
- Diagnoses, analyzes, and repairs electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment using meters, gauges, and other testing methods.
- Applies knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices and principles to install, repair, and/or replace defective equipment.
- Identifies root causes of downtime, poor production performance, non-conforming product, and scrap.
- Suggests changes to standard maintenance procedures by verifying applicability.
- Prepares work areas to ensure tools needed are available and in working order.
- Troubleshoots and resolves equipment problems while demonstrating proactive maintenance behaviors and best-practices.
- Performs required preventative maintenance job assignments and completes documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicates safety, quality, and production concerns to team leaders and supervisors.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with the 5S principles.
- Identifies when equipment needs to be replaced and informs supervisor.
- Works with other team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)
- Able to perform IML set-up and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of Heat Transfer Machine(s) set-up and troubleshooting
- Understanding of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
- Comprehensive understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Pneumatic devices
- Understanding of Food safety, GMP, PRP, HACCP, awareness of food contact materials, as it relates to food safety packaging (in applicable facilities)
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience related to Industrial Maintenance (required)
- Less than 1 year of experience related to plastics set-up (preferred)
Physical Job Requirements
- Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds frequently.
- Able to assist lifting more than 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, and climbing ladders.
- All work is performed in a manufacturing environment which may be hot/cold and requires the use of PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection where necessary, etc.).
