Maintenance Technician

About the role

This position is responsible for the maintenance needs at the Carthage facility, ensuring safe and efficient operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on equipment and general facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair machines, including electrical and mechanical components
• Handle general plumbing and all aspects of electrical hook-up, including running conduit and wiring machines
• Maintain facility grounds and inspect work areas after completion
• Ensure a safe work environment by following safety guidelines and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Participate in safety and skill training, team meetings, and lean concepts (6S, visual factory)
• Complete required skills trainings and educational courses
• Perform additional job responsibilities as directed by management

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Vocational or technical school graduate (may substitute for relevant work experience)
• Knowledge of machine guarding, lock out/tag out procedures, and OSHA/TOSHA standards
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with team members

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, including measurement and angles
• Problem-solving ability in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical Demands

• Sitting or standing for a 10-hour workday with occasional overtime
• Frequent visual attention required for job tasks
• Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds with team assistance
• Manual dexterity for handling, grasping, and manipulating job materials
