About the role
The Maintenance Technician assists internal and external maintenance personnel in maintaining systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; troubleshooting, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Teamwork, self-motivation, a positive attitude, organization, and strong communication skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Performs maintenance in warehouse building and grounds, stores, and delivery equipment, including welding, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tasks.
- Attends Crown Demonstrate Performance Training classes to maintain necessary skills.
- Receives and follows instructions professionally and respectfully.
- Uses hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, utility vehicles, and motor vehicles safely and skillfully.
- Works independently or collaboratively as required by assigned tasks.
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and equipment by conferring with operating departments and identifying problems.
- Maintains facility systems and equipment through preventive maintenance, testing, repairs, and replacements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Implements and maintains a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and machinery.
- Enforces safety and housekeeping practices; keeps work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Conducts safety, building, grounds, and equipment training sessions.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related work experience.
Skills
- Strong aptitude for welding and repairing mechanical, HVAC, electrical, warehouse structure, and plumbed equipment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Professionalism, flexibility, cooperation, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and task-driven.
- Ability to learn new skills through experience and instruction.
- Ability to train associates to become machine operators.
Physical Demands
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull, and lift cartons weighing 50-100+ lbs repetitively.
Other Requirements
- Must maintain a motor vehicle record (MVR) within company guidelines to perform required duties.
