What You'll Be Doing
- Respond to and troubleshoot daily residential repair requests promptly to maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable living environment for students and staff
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on heating and HVAC systems, including servicing thermostats, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, filters, and belts
- Address minor electrical malfunctions, including repairing or replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and wiring, as well as connecting motors to control panels
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, along with structural hardware such as doors, closers, and security locks
- Conduct comprehensive, regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on various mechanical systems, equipment, and building components
- Perform routine scheduled and unscheduled building inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs and assess structural and equipment safety
- Provide immediate, short-term troubleshooting and emergency repairs to mitigate urgent or hazardous facility situations
- Inspect, repair, and replace commercial-grade and residential appliances across university housing units
- Accurately utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) daily to log labor hours, track materials, and complete work orders efficiently to avoid backlogs
- Serve as a professional, customer-focused liaison between residents and the facilities department, while collaborating with supervisors on special project priorities
What You'll Bring
- A high school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience; an Associates or Vocational/Technical Degree preferred
- Three to five years related work experience
- A reliable, safety-conscious approach to physical and hands-on work
- Familiarity with a university or large institutional campus environment is an advantage at Lehigh

Special Considerations
- This position works with minors
- This position is considered Essential Services Staff; Essential Services Staff are required to report to campus and remain during inclement weather and other emergency situations; they are defined as those needed to deliver student services and maintain campus facilities, campus safety and security
- The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community
- This position is responsible for driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, therefore a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record is required
- Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
