About the Role
Assists the Chief Engineer or Lead Maintenance Technician in the functioning of the hotel. Performs repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure the hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained. Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to guidelines and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain facility using consistent preventative maintenance guidelines.
- Ensure all maintenance equipment is in working order.
- Perform tasks as assigned: preventative maintenance, repairs, complete documentation.
- Assist with houseman duties when assigned.
- Address guest issues professionally while maintaining a hospitable and caring attitude.
- Report or correct any hazardous conditions observed immediately.
- Practice safety standards at all times.
- Communicate professionally with guests and co-workers.
- Exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy.
- All other duties as assigned and within the realm of physical capabilities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance.
- Ability to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 60 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, and work low to the ground, sometimes for extended periods.
- Ability to see and hear.
- Ability to speak and read English; communication in another language may be helpful.
Skills
- Knowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical trades.
- Awareness of occupational hazards in the use of power tools and equipment, and necessary safety precautions.
- Ability to perform repairs and maintenance of furniture and fixtures within the hotel.
- Use and care of hand and power tools and equipment appropriate to the area assignment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as well as general maintenance on property grounds.
- Work as a team member and comply with all standards.
- Remain service-centric and maintain a professional demeanor.
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; not conducive to telecommuting or remote work.
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly professional image.
- May be required to spend long periods outdoors in heat or cold.
- May be required to work any day or shift, including nights and weekends.
Pay
$20 per hour
