What this job involves
As a Maintenance Technician at JLL, you will support the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems across assigned facilities while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational efficiency. This role is responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, drywall, asphalt, gates, and fire life safety systems. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer to support daily operations, preventative maintenance, emergency response, and special projects. This position requires flexibility, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on facility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Maintain and repair building interiors/exteriors, grounds, gates, fire life safety systems, generators, and related equipment.
- Complete facility inspections and report deficiencies or operational concerns to the Chief Engineer.
- Respond to service requests, emergencies, after-hours calls, and storm-related support activities as needed.
- Utilize CMMS/work order systems to manage tasks, document completed work, and maintain KPI expectations.
- Carry out routine building rounds and maintain safe, clean, and compliant work areas.
- Support operational projects and additional facility-related tasks assigned by site leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of technical experience in building engineering, maintenance, or facilities operations.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Valid state driver’s license with the ability to maintain driving eligibility.
- Ability to work on-call, overtime, weekends, and support emergency response activities as required.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and safely climb ladders up to 30 feet.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of MEP and HVAC systems design and operation.
- Experience using CMMS or work order management systems.
- Previous experience in a facilities, commercial building, or mobile engineering environment.
- Carpentry, drywall, or general construction repair experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and support cross-functional maintenance activities.
