About the role
Atria Senior Living is seeking individuals for a Maintenance Technician position. Responsibilities
- Prepare move-in-ready apartments, including painting, carpet cleaning, repairs, and housekeeping.
- Manage all maintenance needs to maintain the physical condition of the community.
- Complete daily community inspections, ensuring grounds and common areas are clean and free of debris.
- Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and submit necessary data.
- Handle customer service requests through the Company's work order system, prioritizing them as needed.
- Assist with electrical installations, pool maintenance, carpentry/construction, furnace and air conditioner repairs, filter changes, coil cleaning, plumbing and appliance repairs, drywall and painting repairs, vinyl installation and repairs, minor roof repairs, and more.
- Partner with contractors/subcontractors as required to meet community needs.
- Organize maintenance storage and mechanical rooms, ensuring proper tool and equipment usage and care.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and provincial laws.
- Drive company vehicle only if required by the community.
- Act as a manager on duty as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of hands-on maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
- Three (3) years of multi-family property management or other building maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills, including measurement, estimation, and determining averages.
- Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in safe handling and use of tools, including circular saw, power drill, bench grinder, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, power floor cleaner, carpet cleaner, paint sprayer, ladders, pressure washers, etc.
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to transport up to 50 pounds variable distances and access and work in confined spaces or heights in excess of 8-9 feet.
- Familiarity with all types of surfaces and respective cleaners.
- Experience in carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning.
- Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
