Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, masonry and grounds maintenance.
- Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
- Carry, push, pull and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with co-workers, property managers, vendors, and customers.
- Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and repaired as needed.
- Create and manage work orders.
- Generate and maintain purchase orders.
- Execute any additional maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor or property management.
- Operate machinery with good hand-eye coordination
- Display strong organizational skills
- Able to read and write in English
- Pool operation (training provided)
- Identify circuit breaker panels
- Use a hydraulic jack to move trash bins
- Effectively manage and maintain the trash chute and trash area
Qualifications
- Pass a background check
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Previous hands-on maintenance experience
- Proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting/drywall
- Must perform tasks in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
