Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, masonry and grounds maintenance.
  • Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
  • Carry, push, pull and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with co-workers, property managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and repaired as needed.
  • Create and manage work orders.
  • Generate and maintain purchase orders.
  • Execute any additional maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor or property management.
  • Operate machinery with good hand-eye coordination
  • Display strong organizational skills
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Pool operation (training provided)
  • Identify circuit breaker panels
  • Use a hydraulic jack to move trash bins
  • Effectively manage and maintain the trash chute and trash area

Qualifications

  • Pass a background check
  • Valid Hawaii driver’s license
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Previous hands-on maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting/drywall
  • Must perform tasks in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team

Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Pay

$24.50 per hour

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a qualified individual with industry experience to join our team as a Maintenance Technician.
