Maintenance Technician

What You Will Do

• Receives and prioritizes work orders for general repairs and completes repairs as received; documents progress and completion
• Performs general upkeep and maintenance of the building interior and exterior grounds (including preventive maintenance)
• Supports turnover of vacant units in partnership with contractor(s) and vendors
• Evaluates HVAC equipment and conducts basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
• Orders and maintains replacement and spare parts for the facility and equipment
• Services refrigerators and stoves as needed
• Visually inspects and tests electrical outlets yearly throughout the complex
• Receives, verifies, and counts inventory and direct purchases
• Able to work on emergency calls
• Supports the supervision and completion of capital projects by outside vendors as directed by the Director of Housing
• Captures and supervises the completion of work by outside vendors as needed (e.g., plumbers, electricians, etc.)
• Travels between Heron (Tampa) and Egret (New Port Richey) to complete necessary maintenance as directed by the Director of Housing
• Completes and remains current on all relevant Fair Housing, HUD, and Gulf Coast JFCS training
• Participates in staff meetings and staff development opportunities
