Job Details
The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the company are dynamic. - Installing and repairing all electrical devices within the plant.
- Performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, etc. on all production equipment, utilities, building/grounds, etc.
- Completing parts requisitions, work orders, time sheets, in Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Electrician disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
- Replacing all fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches.
- Working independently and on teams.
- Demonstrating safe work practices.
- Use PLCs for routine troubleshooting.
- Understand and complete all associated paperwork.
- Adhere to preventative/predictive maintenance schedules.
- Read and work from mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Self-sufficient and cost effectively perform all required mechanical and pneumatic assembly operations.
- Complete knowledge and understanding of assembly drawing blueprints at a complex level.
- Mechanical assembly skills on large equipment a plus.
- Able to troubleshoot, adjust and debug to finalize majority of machine lines required in house or at the customers facility.
- Able to perform inquiry and printouts as required in manufacturing and engineering systems.
- Trained and knowledgeable in Mechanical Assembly Standards, Engineering Standards, other applicable procedures and parts flow.
Required Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two year technical degree in mechanical systems or equivalent experience plus five years applicable experience.
- Seven to ten years of related maintenance experience in a converting facility is preferred.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities
- Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of GPI Forklift Certification.
Candidates must be proficient in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements.
