Maintenance Technician

About the role

Apart from producing 50 lb. bags of flour for restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, schools, and Betty Crocker dry mix pouches, the Avon Mill plant operates 24/7. The plant produces an average of 1.1 million pounds of flour daily and approximately 100 million Betty Crocker pouches annually. The plant also handles the production of chocolate chip cookie mix, adding around 2000 lbs of chocolate per hour to the packaging line.

Responsibilities

• Resolve machinery issues and perform maintenance
• Calibrate systems and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Physical stamina for extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and wet environments
• Willingness to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Adherence to grooming requirements suitable for a food manufacturing environment

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Pay

$33.68 per hour, with additional $.50 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift/3rd shift.

Schedule

Shifts available: 2nd shift (3 pm to 11 pm), 3rd shift (11 pm to 7 am).
