Maintenance Technician
About the role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position involves preventive maintenance tasks, assisting with new or modified equipment training, and performing a variety of repairs and adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including checking lubrication levels, filling and greasing, cleaning, and painting press pans.
- Operate and maintain recycle equipment.
- Assist with job set-ups requiring certain adjustments.
- Train associates regarding new or modified equipment under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Strong ability to use independent judgment in determining work processes and actual job performed.
- Demonstrated competence in electricity/electronics, hydraulic/pneumatics, individual components, system and control configurations, associated schematics and documentation.
- Basic mechanical knowledge, including welding, plumbing, and machining.
- Design and layout electrical distribution and plumbing systems for equipment installation.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on all equipment, including air compressors, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Write technical data for set-up, checking, and troubleshooting.
- Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) rules and procedures.
- Use computer skills, including CMM, equipment software (PLC, OPI), and office software.
- Hold a state certified DOL journeyman’s card or UAW maintenance machine repair card.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Knowledge of arithmetic is required.
- Basic skills in oral and written communication.

Environmental Conditions
- Cramped conditions between presses and enclosures.
- Loud noise exposure.
- Exposure to oil.
- Lethal voltages, energy from compressed air, pressurized fluids, rotational force, linear movement, and pinch points associated with machinery.
Working Conditions
- Moderate to heavy work.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Climbing up to a height of approximately 25 feet.
