Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery including slitters, levelers, shears, cranes, forklifts, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues; repair or replace defective parts.
- C Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
- Weld, fabricate, and modify parts as needed for repairs and improvements.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime and efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel/metal processing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and electrical systems (up to 480V).
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed.
- Valid driver's license; forklift and overhead crane certification a plus.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Work in varying temperatures and around heavy industrial equipment with appropriate PPE.
