Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery including slitters, levelers, shears, cranes, forklifts, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues; repair or replace defective parts.
• C Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
• Weld, fabricate, and modify parts as needed for repairs and improvements.
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel/metal processing environment strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and electrical systems (up to 480V).
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and precision measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed.
• Valid driver's license; forklift and overhead crane certification a plus.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Work in varying temperatures and around heavy industrial equipment with appropriate PPE.
