Essential Purpose Of This Position
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Maintenance Technician to support both our manufacturing operations and facility upkeep. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, maintaining building systems, and coordinating with external contractors to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and adaptable to shifting business needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety standards, including proper use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, building systems, and facility grounds to ensure safe and efficient conditions. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and other facility systems.
- Production Support: Assist machine operators during equipment changeovers to minimize downtime (e.g., core cutting, packaging). Set up and operate industrial machines as needed to support production and verify proper functionality.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production machinery. Fabricate and repair parts using shop equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, powered industrial trucks, and other equipment as required.
- Contractor & Vendor Coordination: Work alongside contractors and vendors during equipment installations, repairs, upgrades, and facility projects.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in identifying root causes of equipment and facility issues.
- Technical Expertise: Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Education And Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Flexibility to work extended or varied hours to support production and facility needs.
