About the role

The Full Time Maintenance Technician position at Cypress Court Apartments in Ahoskie, NC, is responsible for performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of all apartment equipment including appliances, electrical systems, and plumbing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs, troubleshoots systems, and completes preventative maintenance.
  • Adheres to standardized diagnostic approaches for preventative maintenance, system troubleshooting.
  • Maintains and improves operating condition, quality, and integrity of all building systems and building appearances.
  • Assists in training Groundskeepers and entry level Maintenance Technicians.
  • Troubleshoots all property systems, and performs or oversees repairs.
  • Conducts maintenance-related inspections, including building and alarm systems inspections.
  • Prepares property for inspections by regulatory agencies.
  • Performs Preventive Maintenance to include winterizing facilities, inspecting HVAC systems, cleaning swimming pools, and ensuring lights/HVAC are turned off in vacant units.
  • Inspects vacant units, ensuring turnovers are completed. Paints turnovers as needed.
  • Walks the grounds and common interior areas daily, removing litter and debris, and removes snow and ice.
  • Ensures the property is maintained in accordance with all applicable Affordable Housing programs.
  • Completes repairs as directed.
  • Completes administrative duties including recording maintenance requests, using proper forms, and maintaining inventory of parts.
  • Ensures safety and compliance with all regulations and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years maintenance experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • College degree preferred.
  • HVAC and/or EPA certification preferred.
  • Previous multifamily experience preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to move heavy equipment safely, using proper equipment.

Skills

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, appliances, water heaters, facility electrical systems, plumbing systems, and special equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
