About the role
The Maintenance Technician will be part of a team responsible for ensuring timely repair of equipment as well as develop preventative maintenance measures on all equipment.
Responsibilities
- Help to source spare parts within budget and keep readily in stock.
- Perform work consisting of, but not limited to, the installation, testing, maintenance, repair and adjustment of plant machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and correct machinery and equipment defects.
- Changes and maintains batteries on powered equipment.
- Work from drawings, sketches, prints and schematic diagrams.
- Make detailed sketches for the manufacture of repair parts by others.
- Use cutting and welding equipment;
- Proficient use of hand tools.
- Install conduit, wire, motors, switchgear, switches, contactors, and control devices.
- Maintain quality standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Adhere to plant regulations and safety rules.
- Utilize all necessary tools, manuals and equipment to efficiently perform the job.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of previous manufacturing maintenance experience and a combination of education/training/certification in the below:
- Electrical Circuits – Industrial Motor Controls, Variable Frequency Drives
- Heating/Air Condition and Ventilation Controls and Equipment repair and maintenance
- Basic Electricity
- Basic Welding & Cutting
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Principles
- Blueprint Reading
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and perform the following for extended periods of time:
- Standing or sitting
- Climbing/squatting/walking
- Repetitive motions and lifting
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of and experience with dehumidifiers (Munters or equivalent)
- HVAC diagnosis and repair
- Machine Shop machine operation - mill/drill/ lathe
