Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Employees

Maintain all machinery within the plant.

• Perform regular and preventative maintenance for machinery.
• Assist other maintenance employees and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Install, maintain, and test Research and Development equipment.
• Process work orders and perform daily preventative maintenance tasks.
• Repair, service, adjust, and test equipment such as air systems, refrigeration units, hydraulic tanks, compressors, and condensers.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment while maintaining high maintenance and safety standards.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment.
• Immediately report or repair any issues noted during shift.
• Communicate with maintenance management for direction or coordination of activities.
• Maintain the integrity of systems and follow procedures and processes put into place by ownership.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to improve technical competency and effectiveness.
• Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills And Abilities

• Above average mechanical aptitude for servicing precision machine parts.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Knowledge and ability to maintain certification to operate various material handling equipment and service complex refrigeration and mechanical systems.
• General knowledge of computers and software is preferred.

Demonstrated Competencies

• Communicate effectively with all levels of employees, both verbally and in writing.
• Have good observation and analytical evaluation skills to report on, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems.
• Be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
• Requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and handling.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of plant maintenance experience is preferred.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
